FORTIFY® polymer is an important additive in the MATRIX polymer slurry stabilization system. FORTIFY works in combination with BIG-FOOT® polymer slurry to create a membrane film at the side-wall of the excavation. FORTIFY rapidly increases the viscosity of a BIG-FOOT slurry, assists in preventing the hydration of reactive clays and shales, reduces slurry loss in porous ground, and reinforces the forming of the synthetic membrane to apply positive differential load against the formation sidewalls.
FORTIFY provides stability, ease of mixing and improved filtration control. FORTIFY is highly recommended when little to no fines (silt & clay) exist within the site geology. Stabilizes soil consisting of sand, gravel and cobbles when pre-mixed in combination with BIG-FOOT polymer slurry fluid.
BLOCK-AID® plugging material contains 3/4” sized natural mineral chips. BLOCK-AID is designed to seal and plug voids and porous zones encountered when drilling a bore hole or Geotechnical excavation. The 3/4” size of BLOCK-AID is ideal for use as a sealant on any vertical bore hole to prevent and stop slurry loss into the surrounding formation. The high swelling nature of BLOCK-AID creates expansion to fill voids, exerting pressure against all surfaces to create a flexible low permeability seal.
BLOCK-AID easily falls through slurry filled excavations without sticking for a discrete in-situ swelling that delivers an excellent seal. BLOCK-AID is used as a sealant and plugging additive when severe cases of slurry loss are expected to occur. The 3/4” chips settle through the slurry fluid, stopping slurry seepage into the surrounding formation. BLOCK-AID is excellent at sealing larger voids, fractures, and cobble and boulder zones encountered when drilling.
CRISS-CROSS® additive is a highly concentrated thinner that is effective at thinning Bentonite drilling fluids. CRISS-CROSS works quickly to thin and disperse Bentonite fluids used in slurry diaphragm and cut-off walls. CRISS-CROSS is very effective at reducing the viscosity and gel strengths of freshwater drilling fluids.
CRISS-CROSS is environmentally acceptable as it contains no phosphates or heavy metals. Because it dissolves quickly, CRISS-CROSS instantly affects the Rheology of the mineral drilling fluid and goes to work thinning Bentonite slurry. CRISS-CROSS is an excellent clay dispersant that rapidly penetrates sticky clays that can cause drilling tools to stick.
FAST-FLOC® is a fast acting liquid flocculent that reduces the time needed to remove suspended solids such as silt and other micron-size particles within the slurry, settling them to the bottom of the excavation. The settled fines can then be removed from the bottom of the excavation with a cleanout bucket or airlift system.
Prior to adding FAST-FLOC, colloidal fines are suspended in the slurry fluid—not actually dissolved in solution. Mixing FAST-FLOC into the drilling slurry accelerates the flocculation reaction causing the suspended particles to group and entangle into larger clumps which settle at the bottom of the slurry fluid.
GEO-NET® is a specially made mineral fiber. GEO-NET Slurry Loss Circulation Material is ideal at sealing the side-walls of the drilled excavation full of BIG-FOOT® slurry. GEO-NET is a long, stretchy, extrusion-spun fiber that when added into the excavation attaches to the soil working like a net. This creates an intermeshing that catches the BIG-FOOT long strands of polymer slurry building a seal over all types of porous permeable soil and rock formations.
GEO-NET is inert when added into drilling slurry. It is acid soluble so it can be easily removed from the area of production. GEO-NET is an additive highly recommended to have readily available on-site. GEO-NET works great to address unforeseen zones of gravels and sands. GEO-NET easily mixes directly into the slurry, is non-toxic, inorganic and stable.
GRID-LOCK® is a specialty polymer that quickly swells to form countless different sized blobs. These polymeric swollen globules follow porous zones where they are drawn, helping the BIG-FOOT® slurry block these larger pores or voids. GRID-LOCK can shut off slurry loss in very porous ground conditions, such as gravels, cobbles and boulders. GRID-LOCK assists in the creation of a membrane along the excavation sidewall playing a major part in stabilizing low cohesion soils.
When porous soil conditions are predicted and contacted, add dry GRID-LOCK into the slurry system. By adding GRID-LOCK into the slurry, numerous blobs of gels to control slurry loss in porous formations become available. When adding GRID-LOCK at the excavation, pour slowly into a MATRIX Eductor mixer or Venturi mixer into a steady flowing stream of slurry flowing into the excavation. FORTIFY® should always be added in combination with GRID-LOCK as it works best together to control slurry fluid loss.
MESH-SET® sealing material contains #8-#20 mesh size high swelling natural minerals. The special matrix of the structure lets MESH-SET absorb over five times the weight of water to a volume of 14-16 times its dry bulk, making MESH-SET a perfect plugging sealant. Used dry, the MESH-SET fine granules expand against casings and soil formations within the excavation to produce a very low permeability flexible grout seal.
MESH-SET is used to seal the annular space between the casing and the excavation sidewall stopping slurry fluid from upwelling onto the ground surface. MESH-SET is also applied directly into the slurry as a sealant and plugging material. The granules settle through the slurry fluid and because of their fine mesh size gather at and along the slurry loss zone stopping slurry seepage into the surrounding formation. MESH-SET is excellent at sealing larger voids and fractures encountered when drilling.
RAPID DROP® is a specially blended dry product designed for polymer slurry. RAPID-DROP can be added at the mixing tank or directly into the drilled excavation prior to clean out. When added into the slurry, RAPID-DROP alters the slurry to drop suspended solids within the fluid.
RAPID-DROP takes out excessive amounts of suspended solids, lowers the pH, and breaks polymer blends. RAPID-DROP is well fit for fully cleaning polymer slurry for disposal. Flocculation of entrapped fines cuts the (cloudiness) of the slurry for better-quality down-hole camera inspections.
