BLACK-BEAR™ Biodegradable Drilling Fluid
BLACK-BEAR® is a natural biodegradable drilling fluid which can be used in a variety of drilling and tunnelling operations. BLACK-BEAR, a horizontal directional drilling (HDD) fluid, is the exceptional clay-free powder designed for environmental sensitive conditions associated with tunnelling operations and drilling horizontal directional recovery wells for groundwater remediation. BLACK-BEAR is environmentally friendly and maintains formation permeability and porosity. The dry free-flowing polymer is non toxic and easily disposed of after breaking it down with ENZYME-BREAKER.
Superior Rheology: The rheological (flow properties) qualities of BLACK-BEAR have been proven in both the laboratory and on the jobsite. This delivers enhanced drilled cutting removal from the borehole as compared to bentonite typically used in HDD operations.
High Gel Strength: The gel strength (cuttings suspension capacity) of BLACK-BEAR slurry is greater than most HDD bentonite based drilling fluids. You do not need to add expensive additions of Xanthan Gum to increase the gel strength.
Excellent Fluid Loss Control: BLACK-BEAR provides a tight thin filter cake which provides excellent borehole stability. BLACK-BEAR polymers are unique in their ability to bind drilled cuttings together to provide an even tighter filter cake than bentonite based drilling fluids. No additional fluid loss additives are required.
