pH Test Strips
The pH indicator strips are used to measure pH in the water source used in the slurry. Visual comparisons of the color of a test solution with a standard color chart provides a means to measure pH accurate to the nearest whole number. The paper strip soaks up the liquid and the indicator dye in the strip changes color. Solutions with a pH less than 7 are acidic and solutions with a pH greater than 7 are basic or alkaline. Pure water has a pH very close to 7. The ideal pH of a drilling slurry in the excavation is 9.0 to 10.0. The pH test strips are packaged 100 to a box.
